DocVerita Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 4, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DocVerita, a Chrome extension and hosted web service operated by Viking Veritas, a California sole proprietorship ("DocVerita," "we," "us," or "our"). By installing the DocVerita Chrome extension, accessing the DocVerita web app, or creating a DocVerita account, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use DocVerita.

1. What DocVerita Is

DocVerita is a verification tool. It checks AI-generated text against documents you provide and returns claim-by-claim results such as Supported, Partially Supported, Ambiguous, Contradicted, or No Evidence Found.

DocVerita is designed to assist review. It is not a substitute for your own judgment and does not provide legal, medical, financial, insurance, compliance, HR, or other professional advice. In particular:

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use DocVerita.

You need a supported Google or Microsoft account to sign in through the authentication methods supported by DocVerita. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own login credentials and for activity that occurs through your account.

Accounts are matched by provider and provider ID, not automatically merged by shared email address. Signing in with Google and signing in with Microsoft may create separate accounts even if the same email address is used.

3. Subscription Plans, Trials, Billing, and Cancellation

DocVerita offers paid plans, including Hobbyist, Professional, Specialist, Business, Business Plus, and Elite, with usage limits and features that may differ by plan. Enterprise offerings may be made available separately.

The current product documents describe a paid trial flow in which a user may start a 3-day trial for $3, with no automatic charge at the end of the trial unless the user takes an explicit action to convert to a paid subscription. As of this policy's effective date, converting credits the full $3 toward your first month — for example, $7 for Hobbyist ($10), $26 for Professional ($29), or $76 for Specialist ($79), never the full price on top of the $3 — and this credit carries over in full if you switch plans during your trial before converting. (The $3 trial is offered on whichever plans are presented to you at signup — today, Hobbyist, Professional, Specialist, and Business; Business Plus and Elite are usage-earned upgrade tiers not offered to a new account with no usage history, and are subscribed to directly rather than through the trial flow.) One $3 trial is available per identity; see our Privacy Policy (Section 6.4) for how we prevent the same identity from claiming a second trial by deleting and recreating an account. In the event of any difference between marketing copy and the checkout flow presented to you at the time of purchase, the checkout flow presented at the time of purchase controls.

You authorize us and our payment processor to charge the fees and applicable taxes for the subscription or other paid service you choose.

3.1 Plan Changes

Where plan changes are available through the product:

3.2 Cancel Subscription

You may cancel your subscription while keeping your account if that option is available in the product. In that case, your subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period and then stops renewing, unless resumed before the end of that billing period.

3.3 Delete Account

You may also permanently delete your account, if that option is available in the product. Account deletion immediately cancels any active Stripe subscription and removes the persistent user row and associated account data from the primary users table.

3.4 Refunds

Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. We may choose to issue a refund in an individual case, but are not obligated to do so.

3.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices, plan packaging, usage allowances, feature access, or other pricing terms in the future. If we increase the price of a recurring subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice to the affected subscriber before the new price takes effect, such as by email, in-product notice, or another reasonable method.

Unless otherwise stated in the notice, a price change will apply starting with your next renewal or other future billing cycle after the effective date of the change, and will not retroactively change fees already paid for the current billing period. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect. Continued use of the paid subscription after the new price becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated price.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

We may use automated abuse-detection and rate-limiting measures to protect the service, including temporary blocks after repeated failed sign-in attempts.

5. Your Content and Limited License

You retain your rights in the text, documents, and other content you submit to DocVerita.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, transmit, scan, process, and analyze that content solely as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and provide DocVerita to you, including through the service providers described in the Privacy Policy.

DocVerita is designed to process uploaded content ephemerally on our own systems where described in the Privacy Policy, but you remain responsible for deciding whether any document or content is appropriate to upload. Certain processing necessarily involves third-party service providers identified in the Privacy Policy.

Waitlist signup form submissions are processed by FormSubmit.co, a third-party form delivery service, before being delivered to us by email. By submitting the waitlist form, you acknowledge that your submission data will be transmitted through FormSubmit.co's systems. FormSubmit.co's use of that data is governed by their own privacy policy, available at formsubmit.co/privacy.pdf.

6. Intellectual Property

DocVerita, including its software, design, branding, interface elements, and related materials, is owned by us or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you except for the limited right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.

7. Availability, Changes, and Beta Features

DocVerita is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or remove features or functionality at any time, including for maintenance, security, legal compliance, infrastructure changes, abuse prevention, vendor changes, or business reasons. We may also impose or revise usage limits, plan structures, feature access, and eligibility requirements.

From time to time, we may label certain features as experimental, beta, preview, or similar. Those features may be less stable, may change more quickly, and may be removed without notice. Conspicuous Silence Detection is expressly described as Experimental.

We are not liable for outages, downtime, maintenance windows, interruptions, data loss caused by third-party providers, or feature changes, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

8. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocVerita is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither DocVerita nor its operator will be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of DocVerita and its operator for all claims arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to DocVerita for the service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DocVerita and its operator from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to: (a) your content; (b) your misuse of the service; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of law or the rights of another person or entity.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to DocVerita if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or potential legal exposure, failed to pay fees when due, misused the service, or attempted to interfere with the service or other users.

You may stop using the service at any time. If available through the service, you may also cancel your subscription or delete your account using the account controls described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Before filing a formal claim, the parties agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the other party through reasonable written notice, including notice to docverita@outlook.com where notice to us is required.

12.1 Binding Arbitration

Except for claims that may be brought in small claims court, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of DocVerita will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis before a reputable arbitration provider in California, under that provider's then-current commercial dispute rules, as modified by these Terms.

You and DocVerita waive any right to a jury trial and waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, private attorney general action, or other representative proceeding, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12.2 Small Claims and Injunctive Relief

Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Either party may also seek temporary or preliminary injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction when necessary to protect rights pending arbitration.

12.3 Court Venue if Arbitration Does Not Apply

If a dispute is found not subject to arbitration or if the arbitration clause is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, then the exclusive venue for that claim will be the state or federal courts located in San Bernardino County, California, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction there.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of DocVerita after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
