DocVerita Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By installing the DocVerita Chrome extension or creating a DocVerita account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use DocVerita.

2. What DocVerita does — and what it doesn't do

DocVerita is a verification aid. Given AI-generated text and one or more documents you provide, it identifies discrete factual claims in that text and classifies each one — Supported, Partially Supported, Ambiguous, Contradicted, or No Evidence Found — based on whether your own documents confirm it.

DocVerita is a tool that assists your own review. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, and it does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. In particular:

• A "Supported" verdict means our system found matching content in the documents you provided — it is not a guarantee that the underlying factual claim is true, complete, or free of other issues.
• DocVerita only checks against the documents you give it. It has no knowledge of facts, law, or context outside those documents.
• Like any AI-assisted system, DocVerita's outputs can be wrong. You are responsible for independently verifying anything you rely on for decisions with legal, financial, medical, or other significant consequences.

If you are a professional relying on DocVerita as part of your work, it is your responsibility — not ours — to apply your own professional judgment and any applicable professional or ethical obligations to how you use it.

3. Accounts

You need a Google or Microsoft account to sign in. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Signing in with Google and signing in with Microsoft are treated as separate accounts, even if they share an email address.

4. Subscription plans, trials, and billing

• We offer several paid plans (currently Hobbyist, Professional, and Small Business) with different monthly usage limits, described at checkout and on our pricing page. Enterprise pricing is available by contacting us directly.
• New paid subscriptions include a 3-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start a trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card will be automatically charged for your selected plan, and your subscription will continue on a recurring monthly basis until canceled.
• You can switch plans at any time from within the extension (Account Help → "Change Plan"). Moving to a higher-priced plan takes effect immediately, with a prorated charge for the difference. Moving to a lower-priced plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period, not immediately — you keep your current plan's limits until then.
• You can cancel your subscription entirely — permanently deleting your account and stopping billing immediately — at any time from within the extension (Account Help → "Cancel & Delete My Account"). To cancel billing while keeping your account and its data, contact us at docverita@outlook.com — this narrower option isn't yet available as a self-service control.
• Refund policy: Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law. We may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund in an individual case, but we are under no obligation to do so.
• We reserve the right to change our pricing with reasonable advance notice to active subscribers.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent your plan's usage limits or another user's account security
• Use DocVerita to process content you don't have the right to upload
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use automated means to access DocVerita outside of the extension we provide, without our written permission

We apply reasonable, automated rate limits and abuse-detection measures to protect the service for all users. Repeated failed sign-in attempts from the same source may result in a temporary block.

6. Intellectual property

DocVerita, its underlying software, and its branding are our property or licensed to us. You retain all rights to the text and documents you submit. By using DocVerita, you grant us the limited right to process that content solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy — we do not claim ownership of it, and (per our Privacy Policy) it is not retained beyond your active session in the ordinary case.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

DocVerita is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that DocVerita will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its verdicts will be accurate or complete.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocVerita and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service — including damages resulting from reliance on a verdict that turns out to be incomplete or incorrect.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of DocVerita in violation of these terms or applicable law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may stop using DocVerita and request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of DocVerita after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
