You paste or upload AI-generated text, upload the document(s) it's supposed to be based on, and DocVerita checks each factual claim in that text against your documents — labeling it with one of five verdicts, along with an exact quote and page citation where relevant.
No. DocVerita only checks against the documents you personally upload. It has no access to, and makes no claims about, anything outside what you provide.
Every "Supported" or "Partially Supported" verdict comes with a verbatim, verified quote and page number from your actual document — we don't let the AI paraphrase or invent a quote.
No. Document content, pasted text, extracted claims, and verdicts are processed only for your active session and are automatically erased after a period of inactivity. Your account information (email, plan, sign-in provider) is stored, since that's needed to run your account. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
Not currently — those are the two supported sign-in methods.
You're signed in, but don't currently have an active plan (or your trial/subscription has lapsed). You should be taken to the plan selection screen automatically; if you believe this is showing in error while you do have an active plan, contact us.
PDF and plain text (.txt) only, currently. Word documents (.docx) aren't yet supported — you'll need to save or export as PDF or plain text first.
Large documents or documents with a lot of scanned pages (which need text recognition) can genuinely take over a minute to process. If you see a message like "Processing is taking longer than 90 seconds," this isn't necessarily an error — try again, or use a shorter excerpt / fewer files at once. If you're pasting a very large amount of text or checking a very large number of claims at once, you may see a message suggesting you split it into smaller sections — that's the fix.
Free trials require a card up front and automatically convert to a paid subscription after 3 days unless canceled before then. If you believe you canceled in time and were still charged, contact us and we'll look into it.
Yes, self-service, from inside the extension (Account Help → "Change Plan"). Moving to a higher-priced plan takes effect immediately, prorated. Moving to a lower-priced plan takes effect at the end of your current billing period. To cancel your subscription entirely, use Account Help → "Cancel & Delete My Account" — this immediately stops billing and permanently deletes your account and its data. If you'd like to stop billing but keep your account and its data, contact us — that specific option isn't yet available as a self-service control.
Self-service, from inside the extension (Account Help → "Cancel & Delete My Account"). This is immediate and permanent: it removes your account, billing/subscription records, and usage data, and immediately cancels any active subscription. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
